Current and Past Goals

Our Goals have been separated by school-year semesters. If they are completed, a green check box is placed in front of what we intended to accomplish followed by what we did and who was involved in blue text.

2008 – 2009

Make it easier for union members of our chapter to navigate and access information on our website.

Make sure that we are in compliance with the State rules of the Association’s Constitution and Bylaws.

2007 – 2008

cDevelop and Implement chapter website as a resource for us to gather and share information about events and topics important to us, an online newsletter of our distributed printed copy, and a place to hear questions, feedback and comments from our members. Website created by Jan 27, 2008. As a means to improve communication we used ”blog/newsletter” format. New articles appear at the top. Each article contains a “comments” link that allows anyone to comment by name or anonymously – new comments appear on the right side column of the website. To give our visitors an updated snapshot of who currently is active in union/chapter activities; we created a “Contact Us” page that lists all of the participating chapter members, their current roles, and contact information. A “Help Us” page was created in order to direct people that want to help by becoming voting members or volunteer their time to the appropriate person. A “Goals” page was created to act as a running history of what we wanted to do, what we accomplishedand who was involved.  On Tuesday, May 20, 2008 we had  a total of 4,204 guests view our site since first published. (Aydin Laghaie)

cImprove communication between membership and officials of chapter. Via one on one contact, increase site visits 10%, Jan – May 08. Visited all of the school sites in the District (43+) for one on one visits by May 2008. Increased communication with e-board and site representatives. (Allyson Holt, Joan Miller, Marilyn Delatorre, Kenny Wilson)

cImprove the methods for membership to utilize CSEA benefits through promotion of benefit awareness. Conducted two benefits fairs with over 40 members in attendance. (Allyson Holt)

cHelp Pass $200 million school improvement bond, (measure A). Bond passed successfully with the help of phone banks, flyer’s, and participation by CSEA union members. (Allyson Holt)
